Maritime Faculties Career Days 2021
10/12/2021
As Armona Denizcilik A.S. we are pleased to inform you that we have completed our Career Days for 2021. We started our first Career Day at Istanbul University’s Department of Maritime Transportation Management Engineering on 27.10.2021.

Thereafter our Crewing Department attended the Career Days of Maritime Universities in the Black Sea Region. Our first stop was at Ordu University Fatsa Faculty of Maritime Sciences on the 7th of December. In direct continuation, we were warmly hosted by Karadeniz Technical University and Recep Tayyip Erdogan University Maritime Faculties on the 8th of December.

Finally, our last visit was with Dokuz Eylül Univesity Maritime Faculty on the 10th of December.

Overall, the Career Days were a great experience for us to meet with all of the potential graduates from different universities. The students were very receptive and eagerly asked questions as we explained the characteristics that we look for in a seafarer. Moreover, we informed the students about life at sea, specifics of our fleet ships, nature of trade, the importance of English, effective use of their internship, recruitment process, our company trainee policy, etc. We are of the firm belief that several students have the talent, work ethic and quality to be recruited as cadets, with the intention of educating them, integrating them into our company culture, and offering them a chance to work with us full-time as Officers among our 12 fleet vessels.

Correction and Denial of False Allegations
31/10/2021
To Whom It May Concern,

We, as the Owners of Atlantis Tankers Group Limited and Armona Denizcilik A.S., hereby reject false allegations published by journalist Seher Yasayacak via her Twitter account “sehersultan1912” on the date of 31st of October and so-called news piece published on  https://www.gercekgundem.com with a title of “Sedat Peker Gundeme Getirmisti Buyuk Bir Gizemi Cozduk” which are stated that our companies are owned by Ganado Services Limited registered in Malta. In addition to this, we reject false allegations which are directed personally to our manager Marlon Kerim Weinstabl as well.

The public should clearly know that our aforementioned companies neither belong to Ganado Services Limited nor do they represent Ganado Services Limited in Turkey. The aforementioned misunderstanding stems from the fact that address and contact details of Ganado Services Limited are published on our website. Since the flag state of our fleet is Malta, law firm named Ganado Services Limited has been determined as our service address in order for our companies to fulfill their notification service obligations.

The presentation of our companies as if they are the representative of Ganado Services Limited in Turkey, with a section taken from our company website, serves no other purpose than to try to discredit our companies in the eyes of the society.

Undoubtedly, it is clear that manifestly ill-founded allegations, which are not even newsworthy, do not have a concern to inform the public correctly. Therefore, we completely reject the false publications, which are purely a misunderstanding with no basis, aiming to put our Companies and Company executives in a difficult situation, to defame them, and we reserve the right to take legal action against the person and institutions that wrote/published the relevant news.

Respectfully announced to the public.

End of Summer Party & Gökhan Samurtalı’s Farewell
24/09/2021
The Armona Denizcilik & Atlantis Tankers family celebrated the end of the Summer 2021 with a party. Additionally the party coincided with a farewell of our esteemed Tanker Broker Gökhan Samurtalı.

It was a great celebration on our 6th floor terrace in our office. Drinks were served at the bar from 16:00 and lasted till 19:00. A mixture of international charts and nostalgic Turkish music was played and allowed for some funny dancing moments.

We want to thank Gökhan Samurtalı for his 8 years of service. He was of great value to our organization and is a true teamplayer. We wish him all the best in his new role and challenge.

On behalf of the Atlantis/Armona family, we wish you all a healthy, safe and prosperous start to the Winter Season.

Sailing to the Future
24/09/2021
Climate change and the reduction of the emissions on our ships has become a Top-Management priority.

Our CEO Lorenz Weinstabl and CTO Marlon Weinstabl conducted sea trials in the Marmara Sea on the Atlantis Alhambra after her Antifouling was renewed and the was engine overhauled during the Interim Survey and Drydock in Tuzla.

The trial comprised measurements of the engine load at different vessel speeds in a fixed pitch mode (combinator) and at constant speed (variable speed) to show the savings we can achieve if the pitch control propeller is used in fixed pitch and variable engine speed. Should the analysis indicate that we have considerable savings using the combinator, then the conclusion will be to install frequency converters to the shaft alternator system to enable the use of the shaft generator for supply of the home-load when its nominal speed will drop and the frequency will fall beyond the point it can still supply electric energy.

In the picture are from left to right Cem Durmuş (Service Engineer, ESM), Marlon Weinstabl (CTO, Armona), Lorenz Weinstabl (CEO, Armona), Aydın Yılmaz (Technical Manager, Armona), Emrah Demir (Chief Engineer, Atlantis Alhambra) and Erdem Akar (3rd Engineer, Atlantis Alhambra). A special thanks to Captain Serdar Rodoslu and his bridge team which were driving circles between Yalova and Tuzla with much patience.

Atlantis Armona - Internal Audit
20/09/2021
The International Safety Management Code (ISM) requires Shipping Companies to have procedures for conducting both internal and external audits to ensure that the ship as well as the shore organisation is doing what is documented in the Safety Management System.

Carrying out internal SMS audits help companies measure the effectiveness of their own systems. Internal SMS audits are potentially more important than external audits for controlling the effectiveness of the system, since companies stand to gain or lose more than from the external audit bodies if the system fails.

One of our internal audits was carried out on ATLANTIS ARMONA by our esteemed DPA and HSEQ Manager Mr. Gökhan Pehlivan at 20.09.2021. All kinds of subjects from the engine compartment to deck issues, from cargo operations to personnel responsibilities and from the legal responsibilities to emergency preparedness were discussed at lenghts onboard at Rotterdam Port.

After completing an effective and successful internal audit, our DPA & HSEQ Manager enjoyed a delicious meal prepared by our ship’s cook in exellent company of our crewmembers. We wish our crew fair winds and calm seas, and lots of success in safe operations during their contractual period onboard.
